i had a problem with my old setup not catching details well, especially at night, so i got this system hoping for a solution. it does let me see in the dark and store plenty of video, which is a big improvement. the bottom line is, it works okay for basic security, but it's not perfect—there are quirks that can be annoying. compared to others in the same price range, it's decent but not the best. :)
- Pros: the ability to see clearly at night over a good distance was quite impressive, and i liked that i could add more cameras later without much hassle. the storage holds a lot of footage, which is great for keeping an eye on things over time. being able to talk through the camera and hear responses was a nice touch, making it feel more interactive.
- Cons: setting it up was a bit fiddly, and the app didn't always work smoothly, which was frustrating. the alerts sometimes went off for no good reason, like when a small animal wandered by, and the audio quality when speaking back wasn't as clear as i'd hoped. it seemed to me that for the price, some aspects could be better refined.
