as a teacher and mom, i wanted something reliable for home security. why did i choose this? i'm loyal to the brand and needed a straightforward system. how does it perform? it's decent—easy to install and use, with good video quality during the day. but at night, it struggles a bit beyond a certain distance, which is a letdown. the two-way talk is handy, though not super clear. alerts are helpful, but false ones happen. overall, it does the job but isn't perfect. would i recommend it? maybe, if you're on a budget and don't need top-notch night performance. :)
- Pros: the setup was super easy with just my phone, no extra screens needed. i like that it works day and night, catching everything clearly even in the dark with its built-in light. getting alerts for people or cars is awesome, and storing everything locally means no extra costs.
- Cons: most likely, the night vision doesn't reach as far as i hoped in my yard, and the audio quality could be better for conversations. expanding the system feels a bit limited without more compatible devices, and the app can be glitchy at times.
