Rinnai RX180iN Condensing Smart Sense Tankless Water Heater: Indoor or outdoor installation
Meet the Rinnai RX180iN—a tankless water heater that's as flexible as it is efficient, perfect for squeezing into tight spots indoors or braving the elements outside. Thanks to its Smart Sense gas control system, this little powerhouse doesn't care if you're team propane or natural gas; it's ready to roll with whatever you've got. And with a compact design that belies its strength, it pumps out up to 10 gallons per minute of hot water. That's enough to keep your shower steamy while someone else is doing dishes—no more cold-water surprises.
Here's the lowdown on what makes it shine:
- First up, Versa Vent makes installation a breeze (because who has time for complicated setups?).
- Then there's the Quick Flush function, because maintenance should be easy, not a chore.
- It's Energy Star qualified with a UEF of 0.98—pretty much the gold standard for efficiency.
- And for those who love tech, there's optional Wi-Fi connectivity with the Control-R module. Yes, you can control your water heater from your phone. Welcome to the future.
Just a heads-up: to keep this bad boy running smoothly for years, you'll want to get it professionally installed. Trust us, it's worth it.

Before I got this I was always dealing with running out of hot water mid-shower or when doing laundry it was a constant struggle and the old tank took up so much room in my place but after switching to this Rinnai heater everything changed it heats water on demand so I never have cold surprises anymore and it's so compact I barely notice it there the installation was a bit of a pain had to call a pro but once it was in it worked perfectly it seems super efficient and I can control it from my phone which is awesome for adjusting things on the go overall it's a big upgrade from what I had before and it handles multiple uses at once no problem
- Pros: I super love how it fits in small spaces and gives hot water instantly no more waiting for it to heat up and it works with different gas types which is great for flexibility and the efficiency is top-notch saving on bills and the optional phone control is a nice touch for tech lovers like me
- Cons: It needs professional installation which adds to the cost and might be a hassle to set up and without that it could have issues down the line but those are fixable with the right help
