as a guy in san diego who's pretty handy with tech, I bought this to keep an eye on my front door, especially with a kid at home. I installed it myself—no big deal—and it was fine for a while. but honestly, I'm disappointed. it's not as smart as I hoped; the real-time viewing is spotty, and the night vision is just okay, not great. for the price, I expected more. it does the job, but barely. I wouldn't buy it again, but it's not a total waste.
- Pros: the delivery was quick, and setting it up was easy enough that I got it working in no time. the screen is clear, so I can see who's outside, and it connects to my home network without a hitch. at night, it still shows a decent image, which is helpful.
- Cons: from what I feel, it didn't live up to the hype; the video quality isn't extremely sharp, and sometimes the connection drops, making it unreliable. I didn't like that it only works on one type of wireless band, limiting where I can place it.
