As a retired guy who loves tinkering with tech, I did a lot of research before picking this up from the store—convenient, by the way. Before this, I was always guessing who was at the door, but now I feel much more secure being able to check things out remotely. It's been about a month since I installed it, and while it's been fairly reliable, the network limitation is a bit of a bummer. Still, for the price, it's a solid choice if you're looking to smarten up your home security without breaking the bank. :)
- Pros: I was fairly impressed with how easy it was to get this thing up and running—no tools needed, just a few taps on my phone and it was good to go. Before, I had an old doorbell that just made noise, but now I can actually see who's at the door from anywhere, which is a HUGE upgrade. The picture stays clear even when it's dark outside, and it connects smoothly to my other smart devices without any fuss.
- Cons: One small downside is that it only works with the slower type of wireless network, so if you're far from your router, the connection can get a bit spotty at times. Also, the battery life isn't as long as I'd hoped, needing a recharge more often than I'd like.
