Decision:

as a stay-at-home dad in lyon, i'm always tinkering with diy stuff around the house, so when i got this doorbell, i was cautious but hopeful. i installed it myself—no big deal, though the manual was no help at all. over the past couple of months, it's become a part of my daily routine; i use it to keep an eye on the kids playing outside or to chat with delivery folks without opening the door. the night vision is impressive; it really lights up the dark, and i've caught a few suspicious movements that turned out to be just cats, but it gives me peace of mind. on the budget side, it didn't break the bank, which is good for someone like me who watches expenses. overall, it seems very functional and adds a layer of security, though i wish it was a bit sturdier and had fewer connection hiccups. i'd recommend it with some reservations, hence the four-star feel.

• Pros: the setup was very easy, just connected it to my home network without any extra wires, which i appreciated. the video quality is sharp even in low light, making it simple to see who's at the door at night. being able to talk to visitors through the device from my phone is handy, and it works reliably from anywhere.
• Cons: the instruction manual seems useless, had to figure out most things on my own. sometimes the connection drops briefly, which can be annoying when i'm trying to check something quickly. it feels a bit flimsy in build, not sure how it will hold up over time.
