as a brand loyalist, i was excited to try this out, and it arrived on time, which was great. setting it up was straightforward—just plugged it in and paired it with my lock, no fuss. i've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it's been mostly reliable for checking if my door is locked or unlocking it remotely, say from the couch or while i'm abroad. the alerts are timely, so i know when someone comes or goes, which adds a layer of security. however, i've noticed it doesn't always stay connected to my network, leading to moments where i can't access it, which is frustrating. also, it would be better if it worked with more devices, not just specific ones from lockly. overall, it's a decent addition to my smart home setup, but it has its quirks. i'd recommend it with some reservations, especially if you're already invested in their ecosystem. :)
- Pros: fairly easy to set up with the plug and pair method, which was a nice touch. i like that i can control my door from anywhere, even when i'm traveling, and getting alerts on my phone is handy for peace of mind. the voice command feature works well with my home assistant, making it convenient when my hands are full.
- Cons: most likely, it only works with certain locks from the same brand, which is a bit limiting. the connectivity can be spotty at times, dropping out unexpectedly. and while the support is promised for life, i've had some delays in getting help when needed.
