so, i bought this after i lost my old remote, and honestly, it's been a mixed bag. the first time i used it, i was in my dorm trying to cool down after a long day of classes, and it took me a good ten minutes to figure out how to pair it with my unit. it worked eventually, but i had to press a bunch of buttons in a sequence that wasn't obvious. once it was set up, it did the job—turned the air on and off, adjusted the temperature, all that. but it feels a bit basic; like, it doesn't have the same smooth responsiveness, and sometimes it doesn't register my clicks if i'm not pointing it directly. for the price, it's okay, but i wish it was a bit more refined. i've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it hasn't broken, which is a plus, but i'm still a little disappointed it's not as good as the original. overall, it gets the job done, but it's not amazing.
- Pros: it's incredibly sturdy and feels like it can survive a few drops, which is a relief because i'm kinda clumsy. also, it works with my air conditioner and a friend's, so that's handy for when i visit.
- Cons: the setup was a bit confusing at first, and it doesn't have all the fancy features of the original remote, which is kinda annoying. i had to fiddle with it to get it just right, and it could be more intuitive.
