Before I got this, I was using an older camera that barely worked in bad weather and gave me false alarms all the time—it was a nightmare. After switching to this SV3C one, things are MUCH better overall. The zoom is a game-changer for keeping an eye on my property, and I appreciate how sturdy it feels outside. But man, the initial setup was frustrating; it took me hours to get it running, and even now, it doesn't always track things as smoothly as I'd hoped. For the price, it's a solid upgrade, but it's not perfect. I'd recommend it with some patience, especially if you're into DIY stuff like me.
- Pros: The camera's ability to zoom in extremely far is impressive, making it easy to see details from a distance. It handles tough weather without any issues, and the night vision keeps things visible even in the dark. I like that it can tell people apart from animals, which cuts down on unnecessary alerts. Setting up motion areas and getting quick notifications works well, and the two-way sound feature is handy for talking to anyone outside.
- Cons: I was extremely disappointed that the packaging arrived intact but the setup was a hassle—it didn't connect smoothly to my network, and the app felt clunky. Sometimes, it misses tracking movements properly, and the alerts can be delayed. The metal case looks good, but it seems a bit bulky for my taste. I wish the night vision was clearer in full color at longer ranges; it often switches to black and white too soon.
