Decision:

as a teacher with not a lot of money i wanted something special for my kid's birthday and this light rope from govee seemed perfect at first it adds a lot of vibrancy to her space and the way it can be shaped easily with those clips is a big plus she enjoys making it pulse and change colors with the app or just by asking alexa which is fun to watch but honestly the whole wifi thing was a headache we have the common type at home and it just wouldn't connect properly so i had to mess around with settings for hours which was frustrating also while the lights are pretty i noticed that after a few weeks some parts seem a bit less bright or the colors don't blend as smoothly as i hoped maybe it's because we bent it too much or something and the ai feature that turns words into light shows sounds cool but it's not something we use much it feels a bit gimmicky and complicated for everyday use overall it's a nice decorative piece that brings joy but it has its flaws that make me wish i had known more before buying i'd say it's good but not great and if you're on a tight budget like me you might want to think twice or look for something simpler

• Pros: i got this as a gift for my daughter and she loves how it makes her room look extremely colorful and fun the lights can change in all sorts of ways which is neat and it was easy to bend into shapes without much trouble the app lets you control it with your voice or phone which is handy for someone like me who isn't great with tech
• Cons: it most likely won't work with our home wifi because it needs a certain type which is a hassle and the setup took a while to figure out the material is soft but i worry it might not last long with all the bending and the app has some confusing parts that made me feel a bit unhappy

Decision:

I bought this to add some fun lighting to my living room for movie nights with my wife and our dog. Packaging was fine, nothing fancy. Setup was mostly easy with the app guiding me through it, but I had trouble with the Wi-Fi thing right away. Once I got it connected, the colors are vibrant and the effects like waves and pulses look great. It seems durable so far, no issues with the material. I'm a fan of this brand from past stuff, so I trusted it, and it mostly delivers. Not perfect, but good for the price. Would I recommend it? Yeah, if you don't mind the Wi-Fi hassle.

• Pros: The light is incredibly flexible and easy to bend into shapes without breaking, and the app makes it simple to change colors and effects with just a few taps. I love how it can sync with voice commands and the AI feature that creates light shows from my words or photos is pretty cool for parties.
• Cons: It doesn't work with my home's Wi-Fi network which uses the newer type, so I had to use an older router. The clips for shaping it are better than before but still a bit fiddly to get just right, and the app can be slow sometimes.

Decision:

i bought this to add some life to our living room, and it's definitely done that. the courier called ahead, which was a nice touch since i was home with the baby. the first night we had it, my kid was mesmerized by the colors, and i caught my partner playing with the app more than the tv. it's not perfect—the clips could be better, and the app has a learning curve—but for the price, it's a fun way to brighten up our space. i'm already thinking about where to put another one.

• Pros: the govee neon rope light is extremely easy to set up, and the app makes adjusting the colors and effects a breeze. the softer material means i can bend it into any shape without worrying about it breaking. the lighting effects are magical, especially the way it can pulse and wave like a real concert light show. it's also nice that i can control it with just my voice or through the app, making it super convenient when my hands are full with the baby.
• Cons: while the light is flexible, it's still a bit tricky to get it to hold some shapes without the clips. the app is great, but it seems a bit overwhelming at first with all the options. also, it doesn't work with my 5g wifi, which is a bummer because i had to switch networks just to set it up.
