I bought this on a whim, thinking it might ease my mind about my grandnoece's safery, and overall, it does the job. The GPS feature is reliable; I can always check where she is, which is comforting. Making calls and sending texts is handy, though setting it up with a SIM was a bit of a hassle. It's durable for kid use, surviving a few drops already. But honestly, for the price, I wish it had a sleeker look—it's a bit clunky. Not perfect, but it gets the essentials right. I'd recommend it with reservations, especially if you're okay with the utilitarian aesthetic.
- Pros: The location tracking worked right away, which was a huge relief, and the emergency button is extremely straightforward for a child to use. It's also waterproof, so no worries about rain or spills, and the interface is simple enough that een a young one can figure it out without much fuss.
- Cons: As it seemed to me, the need for a SIM card adds an extra step and cost, and the design, while functional, isn't exactly stylish—I expected somehing a bit more fashionable from KaWaLL. The battery life could be better; it doesn't last as long as I'd hoped between charges.
