as a teacher who's into diy, i was excited to upgrade from my old lock, but i'm a bit skeptical. it works well most days, letting me in quickly and keeping track of entries, which is great for peave of mind. but from what i feel, the battery issues and occasional unreliability with fingerprints make it less perfect than i hoped. compared to what i used before, it's a big step up in tech, but not without its flaws. overall, it does the job, but i'm not completely won over—it's good, not great.
- Pros: i love how many ways i can get in without keys—fingerprint, code, or even my phone. it's incredibly convenient for when my hands are full. giving temporary access to guests is a breeze with codes that expire, and i feel safer knowing i can check on things from my phone when i'm not home. installation was straightforward, fitting my door withotu any extra work, which was a relief.
- Cons: i expected better battery life; it drains faster than i'd like and needs frequent charging, which is a hasse. also, it doesn't handle wet fingers well for the fingerprint part, and the app can be glitchy at times. keeping it covered is a must, but that feels like an extra step i didn't anticipate.
