first impression: i bought this to keep an eye on my home, especially with kids and pets around. it does the job okay, but it's not perfect. the video quality is good, but i wish it didn't require an extra subscription for features like saving clips. the alerts are hit or miss—sometimes they catch everything, other times they miss stuff. overall, it's a decent gadget, but i expected more for the price. a 3 out of 5 :)
- Pros: the setup was quite easy, and i liked that i could place it anywhere without much hassle. the video looks sharp during the day, and it even shows colors at night, which is helpful. getting alerts when something moves is convenient, especially since it mostly ignores my pets.
- Cons: most likely, the need for a separate plan to save videos is a letdown, and the alerts can be a bit too sensitive at times. the privacy cover feels a bit flimsy, and it doesn't always integrate smoothly with other smart devices i have.
