Blink Mini 2 Home Security & Pet Camera: 1080p HD live view
Meet the Blink Mini 2—your home's new eyes and ears. This second-gen plug-in smart security camera keeps you in the loop with what's happening at home, all from your phone. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to spy on their pet's midday antics? Enjoy 1080p HD live view, night vision that doesn't skimp on color thanks to a built-in spotlight, a view that's wider than your last Netflix binge, and audio so crisp you'll hear every leaf rustle. Fancy streaming non-stop for up to 90 minutes? Grab a Blink Subscription Plan (because, of course, it's sold separately).
When motion's detected, your phone blows up with alerts—because nothing says 'welcome home' like a notification. Opt for the Blink Subscription Plan, and you'll even get smart alerts that can tell a person from your overenthusiastic golden retriever (yes, computer vision's involved, and yes, it's still sold separately).
Setting up? A breeze. You'll have your Mini 2 up and running in minutes, giving your home the coverage it deserves. Plus, pair it with a Blink Video Doorbell (sold separately, sensing a theme here?), and your Mini 2 doubles as a chime. Doorbell rings, Mini 2 sings—simple.
Alexa-compatible for those who prefer shouting commands over tapping screens. 'Alexa, show me the living room'—because sometimes, you just need to confirm the cat's not on the counter again. The box? Comes with two Blink Mini 2 cameras, because one's lonely, plus all the mounting kits, USB cables, and power adapters you'll need to get started.

I got this as a gift to keep an eye on my apartment while I'm out, maybe to check if I left the stove on since I'm into cooking. The problem was I wanted something simple and affordable to monitor things remotely. The solution was this camera—it plugs in easily, and I can view it on my phone anytime. But the takeaway is that while it does the basics well, the extra costs for subscriptions and accessories make it less of a bargain. It seems okay for casual use, but not a standout.
- Pros: Setting it up was extremely easy, and I liked that I could see everything clearly in high definition, even at night with the light on. The view is wide, so it covers a good area, and the sound comes through sharp, which is great for hearing what's going on. It works with my voice assistant, so I can just ask to see the feed without touching my phone.
- Cons: The constant need for a separate plan to get useful features like longer recording or smart alerts seems annoying, and it feels like I'm being nickel-and-dimed. The alerts can be too sensitive, setting off for every little motion, which gets old fast. Also, having to buy extra parts like a doorbell to make it chime is a hassle.
