so i got this thing to jazz up my place a bit, since i'm into gaming and wanted some cool lighting without spending a fortune. hooked it up to some led strips under my tv cabinet—was pretty simple, just plugged it in and paired it with my phone over bluetooth. at first, it was neat being able to dim the lights or switch colors with a few taps, and i set a timer to turn off at night, which is handy. but after a couple weeks, i noticed it doesn't always connect well; if i'm in another room, it might not respond, which is annoying when i'm trying to adjust things. the app is okay, but it feels a bit limited—like, i wish i could save more custom settings or something. overall, it's a so-so upgrade; it does what it says, but it's not perfect. i'd say it's fairly decent for the money if you're just starting out with smart home stuff, but don't expect anything amazing. could be wrong, but that's my take after using it for a bit.
