I bought this on a whim after seeing an ad, and it arrived on time, which was a relief. As someone who's been keeping chickens for years, I was skeptical about gadgets, but this has mostly won me over. It's nippy in operation, and I love not having to rush out at dawn. The app is easy to use, even for an old bloke like me, and the build quality feels solid. Had a few hiccups with the sensor, but nothing major. Overall, it's made my mornings much easier, and the chickens seem happy too :) Would recommend with a few caveats.
- Pros: It's super convenient, letting me sleep in without worrying about the chickens. The door opens and closes on its own based on light and time, which is brilliant. I can control it from my phone, and the safety feature prevents any accidents. It charges with solar or a cable, so it's reliable in all weather, and it's built to last, handling rain and sun without a hitch.
- Cons: It was a bit pricey, and setting it up took some fiddling—most likely not for the faint-hearted. The custom sound feature is fun but a bit gimmicky; my chickens didn't always respond. Occasionally, the light sensor gets confused on cloudy days, needing a manual override.
