before i got this lamp, i was using an old one that was always running out of batteries and took up too much space. now, with this one, it's much more convenient—no more hunting for batteries, and i can adjust the light to exactly what i need. it fits nicely on my desk and adds a nice touch to the room, though the humming is something i notice sometimes. overall, it's a very practical improvement for my workspace.
