Ever locked yourself out? Yeah, me too. That's why the Philips Wi-Fi Door Lock is a game-changer. Ditch the keys and choose your style: tap the app, punch in a code, use your fingerprint (hello, future), or even just ask Alexa or Google to let you in. And because it's WiFi-enabled, you can lock or unlock your door from, well, anywhere—like that time I forgot if I locked up before my vacation.

Here's the kicker: it's not just about getting in. You can set up to 100 passcodes (great for the dog walker or your in-laws), and it'll lock itself if you forget. Plus, with real-time alerts, you'll know exactly who's coming and going. And when you're away? Flip on Away Mode to disable everything but the master code. Installation? A breeze. Just grab a screwdriver and say goodbye to your old lock. Simple, smart, and a tad bit sassy—just like your home security should be.

Decision:

My first impression was mixed. On one hand, it's incredibly convenient to unlock the door with just a tap on my phone or a voice command, and I love that I can check if it's locked from anywhere—perfect for my forgetful moments. But the connectivity issues are a real letdown; during a recent outage, I had to rely on the backup code, which felt clunky. The installation was easy with basic tools, but I wish it had a more robust offline mode. For the price, I expected smoother performance, especially with the biometric feature. It's functional, but not flawless, and as a pragmatist, I'm a bit disappointed it doesn't live up to the hype entirely. Still, it's a step up from traditional locks, just needs some polishing.

  • Pros: The sleek design fits well with my home's aesthetic, and I appreciate that I can control it from my phone without needing keys. Setting up temporary codes for guests is straightforward, and the automatic locking feature gives peace of mind when I'm rushing out.
  • Cons: It seems too reliant on a stable internet connection—if my Wi-Fi drops, I'm stuck. The fingerprint reader can be finicky, and I've had a few instances where it didn't recognize me right away. Also, the app notifications are sometimes delayed, which makes me cautious about its reliability.
