as an engineer, i did a lot of research before buying this, expecting it to be a solid guardian for my home, especially with a kid around. in reality, it's good for basic alerts and works with voice assistants, which is nice for my gaming setup, but it falls short on reliability. i'm polite-but-unhappy since it meets most needs but has some quirks. overall, it's decent, but not perfect—i'd recommend it with reservations for someone starting out with home security.
- Pros: from what i feel, the setup was super easy—assembly is a breeze with the sticky backing, no tools needed at all. i like that it sends alerts to my phone right away when something happens, and being able to control it from an app is handy. it blends in well with my home decor, and the store pickup was convenient.
- Cons: i'm a bit cautious because it doesn't always connect reliably to my network, and i wish it had more customization options without needing extra services. the adhesive might not hold up over time, and it feels a bit limited in what it can do on its own.
