before i got these, my yard was pretty dark at night, and i was always worried about tripping or unwanted visitors. after installing them, it's definitely better—they light up when i walk out, which is handy. but as it seemed to me, they're not perfect; the motion part is finicky, and they don't always work reliably. for the price, i expected a bit more consistency. they do the job, but i might look for something else if these don't improve with time.
- Pros: i liked that these lights don't need any wiring and run on solar power, which saves on electricity bills. they're built to handle all kinds of weather, and the clip-on design made them easy to put up on my fence. the light is very bright when it turns on, which is great for seeing things at night and feeling a bit safer.
- Cons: on the downside, the motion detection took some fiddling to get right—it sometimes didn't turn on when i expected or went off too easily. the brightness can be a bit too harsh for my taste, and in cloudy weather, they didn't charge as well, so they didn't last all night. the style is nice, but not as elegant as i hoped for my garden.
