As it seemed to me, this float is a mixed bag. On one hand, it's too good at its main job—lighting up the night and signaling bites. On the other, it's a bit too eager with the alerts, and the build quality is just okay. For the price, it's a decent deal, but don't expect miracles. It's made my night fishing trips less of a guessing game, but it's not perfect. I'd recommend it, but with the caveat that you might need to get used to its quirks.
- Pros: At long last, a fishing float that actually makes night fishing bearable. The light is BRIGHT, no kidding, and it really does cut through the dark like it claims. Setup was a breeze, just clip it on and you're good to go. Battery life seems solid, didn't have to fuss with it all night.
- Cons: Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed with how sensitive the tip is. It picks up EVERY little movement, which is great for bites but also means you're getting false alarms from waves or wind. And for the price, I expected it to feel a bit more rugged. It's not flimsy, but it doesn't scream 'built like a tank' either.
