my first impression of this HOME LOVER device was that it arrived with packaging intact, which was a good start. as an engineer, i tend to look at things critically, and while i'm generally polite, i can't help but feel a bit unhappy with some aspects. it's extremely useful for keeping an eye on the front door, especially since i live in seattle and cycle a lot—nice to know the house is secure when i'm out on my scooter. the two-way talk feature lets me chat with visitors without opening the door, which is handy, but the irony is that it sometimes fails right when a delivery shows up. overall, it does what it promises, but it's not perfect. i'd recommend it with reservations, mostly for its convenience and ease of use :)
- Pros: the video quality is extremely sharp, making it easy to see who's at the door even in low light, and i most likely appreciate that it works over the internet so i can check in from anywhere. the voice changing option is a fun beast for adding some humor, and setting it up was a breeze with no wires involved, which is great for someone like me who isn't too tech-savvy.
