as a deal hunter who's into diy, i picked this up hoping it would be a straightforward upgrade for my cadillac, and for the most part, it delivered. i expected it to be a huge improvement over the old screen, and reality was that it made things snappier and more responsive, which was a nice change. compared to other options in the same price range, it seemed like a fair value, but i did have to spend some extra time getting it installed properly. overall, it's made my drives a bit more enjoyable, and i'd say it's worth it if you're handy and looking for an easy fix.
- Pros: it was a direct replacement for the original part, which made swapping it out fairly simple, and the touch response felt much quicker than before, almost like it woke up and started working properly. the design seemed sturdy enough to handle some rough handling, which is great since i do a lot of my own fixes and need things to last.
- Cons: i was hoping for a bit more in terms of overall smoothness, as it still had some minor delays here and there, and while it's better, it didn't completely eliminate all the lag i was used to. also, the installation, though easier than some things, wasn't entirely grandma-proof and took a bit of fiddling to get just right.
