  • Then there's the solar energy lesson—because who doesn't want to save the planet one toy at a time?
  • Everything's included, so no last-minute runs to the store for that one tiny screw.

Decision:

My first impression was pure excitement—I mean, a solar-powered robot toy? HOW COOL IS THAT? I got it as a gift for my niece, and watching her face light up when it started moving in the sun was priceless. But honestly, the reality hit hard on overcast days; it just sits there, useless, which is a bummer. Building it together was a great bonding moment, but we had to redo a few steps because the guide wasn't clear. It's a neat idea for teaching about renewable energy and problem-solving, but it's not as reliable as I'd hoped. For the price, I expected something a bit sturdier and more consistent. Still, it's a fun way to sneak in some learning, and I appreciate the eco-friendly aspect—just wish it worked better in typical UK weather!

  • Pros: I absolutely loved that it runs on sunlight—no need for batteries, which is a huge win for the environment and my wallet. Building it was a blast; it really sparked my creativity and felt like a fun puzzle to solve. Everything was included in the box, so I didn't have to hunt down any extra parts, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
  • Cons: From what I feel, it's extremely finicky in cloudy weather—barely works without direct sun, which is a letdown here in Edinburgh. The instructions were a bit confusing at times, leading to some frustrating moments. Also, it feels a bit flimsy; I worry it won't hold up well over time, especially for younger kids who might be rough with it.
