Decision:

When I first got this, I was excited because I've been keeping fish for years and always struggled with thermometers that need constant battery changes. This one seemed like a perfect solution, and for the most part, it has been. I like that it's eco-friendly and blends nicely into my aquarium without being obtrusive. The LED is clear and gives me peace of mind that my fish are comfortable. However, I've noticed it doesn't hold a charge well during long stretches of overcast weather here in Chicago, so I have to make sure it gets some direct sun now and then. Overall, it's a handy tool, but it could be improved with a better way to handle low-light conditions. I'd recommend it with that caveat, especially for someone like me who values convenience and sustainability.

• Pros: I really appreciate how it runs on sunlight, so I never have to worry about changing batteries, and the display is bright and easy to read even from across the room, which is great for my eyes. It seems very accurate in showing the water temperature, and it was simple to set up—just popped it in the tank and it started working right away.
• Cons: On cloudy days, it doesn't charge as well, so the display can dim or turn off, which is a bit frustrating when I want to check the temperature quickly. Also, it feels a bit too lightweight and might not stay put if the water gets stirred up by the filter.
