Decision:

so i got this sensor thinking it would help me keep my plants alive better, but honestly it's been a mixed bag. why did i buy it? well, i wanted something to monitor my garden without having to check every day, and it does that to some extent. how does it work? it connects to an app and sends updates on soil conditions, which is cool when it works. but there were times when the data didn't match what i saw, like once it said the temperature was high but it felt normal outside. also, the app can be glitchy, and i had to restart it a couple of times to get readings. would i recommend it? maybe if you're on a tight budget and don't mind some inconsistencies, but for me, it's not reliable enough. overall, it's okay but not great, just does the job half the time :(

  • Pros: it was easy to set up with the app and i liked that it works without any wires, just stick it in and it sends data which is handy for checking on my plants from my phone when i'm not in the garden
  • Cons: the readings seemed a bit off sometimes, like it would say the soil was dry when it felt moist to me, and the connection dropped a few times which was a bit annoying, plus it feels a bit cheap for what it costs
