i picked this up for my place here in san antonio, thinking it'd make managing the heat a breeze. installation was straightforward enough for someone like me who's handy, but getting it connected to my wifi took a few tries and some frustration. once it was running, the remote access was handy, especially when i forgot to adjust it before leaving home. but i've had moments where it just wouldn't respond through the app, which is annoying when you're counting on it. the display is nice and bright, no complaints there, and it does seem to keep the energy use in check. overall, it's an okay gadget, but not without its quirks. for the price, i expected a bit more reliability, but it gets the job done most of the time.
- Pros: the screen is fairly clear and easy to read without any strain, and being able to adjust the temperature from my phone while i'm out or just lounging around is a real beast of a feature :). it seems to use energy efficiently, which might save some money over time.
- Cons: as it seemed to me, it only works with electric heating, so if you have a different setup, it's not an option. the setup was a bit fiddly, and i had some connectivity drops that made remote control unreliable at times.
