as a sales manager in my late fifties, i bought this hoping to upgrade our home audio for family movie nights with my son. i'm not much into tech, so i went with bose for the reputation. after using it for a couple of weeks, it's okay but not great. the sound is impressive when it works, filling the room nicely, but i had trouble getting everything connected properly—too many choices like hdmi and optical made my head spin. voice commands with alexa are hit or miss; sometimes it listens, other times it just ignores me. my son loves it for his music, but i find it a bit too flashy for my taste, and the price tag is steep. most likely, it's good for tech-savvy folks, but for me, it's more hassle than it's worth. i'd recommend something simpler and cheaper if you're like me. 😕
- Pros: the sound is very immersive and clear from all directions, which i liked a lot for movies and music. connecting it to my phone and other gadgets was easy without any wires, and having voice control to play things hands-free is a nice touch. the option to add more bass later is a good thought for future upgrades.
- Cons: bottom line, it's very expensive for what it delivers, and i found the setup a bit confusing with all the ports and options, not very beginner-friendly. the voice control doesn't always work as expected, and i miss having a simple remote or more straightforward controls. also, it feels a bit overkill for my small living space, and the sound can be too intense at times without much fine-tuning.
