i bought these as a gift for my husband to light up our patio, and we've had them for a couple of months now. compared to the old wired lights we had, these are way more convenient since they don't need any plugs or switches. during the day, they charge up just fine in the houston sun, and at night, they provide a nice glow. but i've noticed that after a few rainy weeks, they didn't shine as brightly, which was a bit disappointing. as a chef, i appreciate things that work reliably, and while these are mostly hassle-free, i'm not fully convinced they're the best long-term option. they do their job, but i could be wrong—maybe they need more direct sunlight than i thought. overall, they're a decent choice if you want something eco-friendly and easy, but don't expect perfection.
- Pros: i liked that they run on sunlight, so no electricity bills, and they turn on and off by themselves at the right times. the light is really bright and efficient, which is great for my outdoor space. setup was super easy, and they look sleek on my wall.
- Cons: they could be a bit too dim on cloudy days, and i'm not sure how long they'll last compared to what i used before. the waterproofing is good, but i worry it might not hold up in extreme weather over time.
