My first impression of the OutsideWorld alarm was that it's a clever little device. I set it up in no time—no toolbox needed, thank goodness—and it started working right away. The sound is incredibly powerful; it definitely makes you feel safer, like having a watchdog without the mess. I appreciate that I can check on things from my phone, which is handy since I'm often out and about. But honestly, it can be a bit jumpy with the sensors; I've had it trigger a few times when it was just a car passing by or a bright light, which is a bit of a hassle. Overall, though, it does what it promises and adds an extra layer of security to my home, which is exactly what I wanted.
- Pros: It's extremely loud, which is a huge relief for security, and I love that it's wireless and easy to set up without any tools. The ability to control it from my phone from anywhere is fantastic for peace of mind, and it works well with my other security stuff.
- Cons: As it seemed to me, the sensors might be a bit too sensitive at times, picking up every little sound and light change, which can be annoying. Also, the loudness is great but might bother the neighbors if it goes off by accident.
