as an impulsive buyer, i grabbed this thinking it would jazz up my home, and at first, i was fairly enthusiastic because it did make things easier for a bit, like setting timers for my lights to mimic being home when i'm out for concerts. but after using it for a week or two, the reliability issues started to show, and it just doesn't work as smoothly as i hoped. i could be wrong, but for someone who's a beginner with this stuff, it's not as helpful as it claims, and i find myself going back to the old switch more often than not. overall, it's okay but not great, and i wouldn't recommend it to others unless they're prepared for some hiccups.
- Pros: i was fairly excited to try this switch since it seemed like a fun way to control my lights without getting up, and it works with the voice assistants i already use, which is handy for someone like me who's not too tech-savvy. setting it up was surprisingly easy, no complicated steps, and i liked that i could turn lights on or off from my phone even when i'm not home, making it feel a bit magical at first.
- Cons: one thing bugged me though, it doesn't always respond when i ask the assistant to turn the lights on or off, sometimes it just ignores me, and the app can be a bit glitchy, making it frustrating when i'm trying to set a schedule. also, it feels a bit flimsy compared to my old switch, and i worry it might not last long, which is disappointing for the price.
