i bought this as a gift for myself, expecting a simple way to jazz up my tv setup. reality is, it does add a nice ambiance and the control via phone is convenient, but it's not perfect. the lighting can be overwhelming if not adjusted carefully, and i've had a few moments where the connection dropped. for the price, it's a decent upgrade, but don't expect miracles. it enhances the viewing experience without being essential.
