before i got this bulb, my living room had a plain old lamp that i had to manually turn on and off, and it only gave off a dull white light. after installing this one, i can change the color to something softer for evenings or brighter for reading, and it's quite nice to control it from my chair, especially since my knees aren't what they used to be. but honestly, it's not perfect; the app could be smoother, and i miss having a simple switch sometimes. overall, it's an improvement, but i expected a bit more reliability for the price. as a rationalist, i weigh the pros and cons, and while it does what it says, the little annoyances add up.
- Pros: i quite liked how easy it was to set up, as it seemed to me, just screwing it in and connecting through the app. the colors are vibrant and can be changed from my phone, which is handy for adjusting the mood in my living room. it works with voice commands, so i can just ask to turn it on or off without getting up, and it saves energy, which is good for my budget.
- Cons: shipping took longer than expected, and i was a bit disappointed that the app sometimes feels clunky or slow to respond. the light doesn't always match the exact color i pick, and it seems a bit finicky with my older phone. also, without a physical switch, i have to rely on my phone, which can be inconvenient if the battery dies.
