I bought this after my old remote took a dive off the couch during a movie night, probably thanks to my kid's enthusiastic popcorn throwing. As a student on a budget in LA, I'm always hunting for deals, and this seemed like a good replacement. From what I feel, it does what it's supposed to—turns on the TV, changes settings, and all that—but it's not without its flaws. It's a bit plasticky and doesn't have the same premium feel, which is a letdown. Still, for the price, it's saved me from having to buy a whole new TV or something drastic. I've been using it for a couple of months now, and while it hasn't broken, I'm not totally in love with it. It's functional, but I might look for something sturdier next time if this one gives out. Overall, it's an okay stopgap, but nothing to write home about.
- Pros: It works just like the original, so I can flip through channels and use all the smart features without any hassle. The buttons feel solid and it's held up well from what I feel, which is great since my toddler tends to throw things around. It was easy to start using right out of the box, no complicated setup needed.
- Cons: The build quality is a bit cheap, and it doesn't have the same heft as the original, which makes it feel less durable. Sometimes the buttons are too sensitive or not responsive enough, leading to a couple of nitpicks during use. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
