as a healthcare worker with a high income and a perfectionist streak, i bought this for my child hoping it would spark an interest in tech without being too frustrating. it's done that fairly well—the concepts are broken down in a way that's engaging, and the build quality is solid. but coming from an automotive background, i'm used to more complexity, and this might not hold their attention for long. still, for a first step, it's a decent choice.
- Pros: at long last, a toy that actually makes coding fairly intuitive for kids without needing constant supervision. the robot block adds a nice hands-on element, and it's all set up right out of the box, which i appreciate as a busy parent.
- Cons: could be wrong, but it feels a bit limited for more advanced users; my kid might outgrow it quickly. the solo aspect is good, but i wish there was a bit more to it for the price.
