before i got this, i was always hovering over the grill, poking at meat and worrying it would burn or be raw—total stress, especially with a big family to feed and my pets underfoot. now, i can just pop the probe in, set my phone nearby, and go play with the dogs or finish up sides. it's made summer cookouts way more fun and less like work. the temp readings seem accurate, and i've had fewer kitchen disasters, which saves money on food. it's not perfect, but for the price, it's a solid helper. i'd say it's fairly worth it if you cook a lot outdoors or in the oven.
- Pros: i love how it lets me check the temp from across the yard without being stuck at the grill, just what i needed for my barbecues with the grandkids. it works in the rain or if i spill something, which is great for my messy cooking style. the range is good enough that i can prep other things or relax, and it helps me get the meat just right every time, no more dry chicken or undercooked roasts.
- Cons: from what i feel, it can be a bit tricky to set up at first, and the instructions weren't super clear for someone like me who's not great with gadgets. sometimes the connection drops if i go too far, which is fairly annoying when i'm trying to multitask. it doesn't work for super high heats, so i have to be careful with what i'm cooking.
