San Jose, CA

As a dad who commutes daily on my scooter around San Jose, I was excited to try this helmet after hunting for a good deal. The courier actually called ahead to schedule delivery, which was a nice touch. Right away, the sun visor was a lifesaver—no more squinting or fumbling with sunglasses, and the airflow kept me from sweating buckets in traffic. But setting up the communication feature was a hassle; it took me a while to pair it with my devices, and the sound quality isn't always clear, especially with wind noise. After using it for a couple of months, I've noticed it's starting to feel a bit loose, and the padding isn't as comfy as I'd hoped. It looks stylish and does the job for safety, but for someone who values reliability, it falls short. I'd recommend it with caution—it's decent, but not the best out there.
- Pros: I quite liked the built-in sun visor—it's super convenient for those bright California days without needing extra gear. The ventilation is excellent, keeping my head cool even on long rides, and it's lightweight, so no neck strain. Being able to chat with friends on the road without yelling is a game-changer; it makes group rides much more enjoyable.
- Cons: From what I feel, the intercom setup was a bit finicky to get working right out of the box, and the fit isn't perfect for my head shape, leading to some discomfort over time. The sun visor mechanism feels a bit cheap and might not hold up long-term. Also, for the price, I expected a bit more in terms of overall build quality and ease of use.
