so, as someone who's fairly skeptical about gadgets, i had to ask myself: does this thing actually work? well, yeah, it does. it detects motion pretty well most of the time, and the light is cozy—not like those harsh ones that make you feel like you're in a hospital. i stuck it in my hallway, and it's saved me from a few stubbed toes, i guess. but it's not perfect; sometimes it misses me if i'm creeping around, and i wish the batteries lasted longer. overall, it's a simple solution that does what it says, but don't expect miracles. could be wrong, but for the price, it's decent. :)
- Pros: it turns on by itself when i walk by, which is super handy for late-night trips to the kitchen without fumbling for switches. the light is warm and not too bright, so it doesn't wake me up or disturb my sleep. i like that it runs on batteries, so i can put it anywhere without dealing with cords.
- Cons: the sensor can be a bit slow to react sometimes, especially if i'm moving quietly, and it doesn't always catch me from certain angles. battery life could be better; i had to replace them after a few weeks of regular use, which feels a bit frequent.
