as an office worker in chicago, i was struggling with fuzzy audio on my smartphone during virtual meetings—it sounded awful, like i was in a tin can. i needed a solution fast, and being a brand loyalist, i went with audio-technica. the courier called ahead for delivery, which was nice. this microphone was the straightforward fix i hoped for; it clips to my collar, plugs right in, and my voice comes through much better. it's helped me sound more professional without needing to fiddle with settings. the takeaway is that it's a decent upgrade for basic use, but it's not perfect and might not suit everyone's needs.
- Pros: i quite liked how it clips on easily and makes my voice sound much clearer than my phone alone, which was a big relief for my work calls. it's so small and light that i barely notice it's there, and it works with my phone without any fuss, which is great since i'm not tech-savvy.
- Cons: from what i feel, it's not without flaws; the sound can still pick up some background noise like jacket rustling, and it doesn't always feel as sturdy as i'd hope for the price. i wish it had a bit more heft to it, but overall, it does the job okay.
