as an analyst, i tend to compare things, and my expectation was that a diy security system would be complicated or unreliable. reality is, this one is quite solid. i bought it to protect our home, with my family in mind, and it does the job well. the detection is sensitive, and i like that it can grow with our needs. only gripe is the documentation, but once you get past that, it's a great value. would recommend for anyone looking to secure their place without the hassle. :)
- Pros: quite impressed with how easy it was to set up myself, no need for a technician or monthly fees. the screen is clear and responsive, and it works well with other gadgets from the same brand. getting alerts on my phone keeps me informed, and the voice guidance in multiple languages is a nice touch. it's expandable, so it fits my home nicely.
- Cons: could be wrong, but the manuals are pretty useless—had to figure most things out on my own. the siren is loud, which is good, but might annoy neighbors if it goes off accidentally. pairing with some smart home devices was a bit finicky, not as seamless as i hoped.
