i bought this chigood tracker hoping it would give me peace of mind with my active dog, especially since i travel a lot and need something dependable. right out of the box, it was easy to set up, and i liked that it didn't add much weight to his collar. but during a recent trip to the park, he bolted after a squirrel, and the tracker showed his location as a block away when he was actually just behind some bushes—super frustrating. the app took forever to update, and by the time i got the alert, i'd already found him myself. for a device that's supposed to prevent panic, it kinda added to it. i've only had it for a couple of weeks, and while the battery life is okay, the performance issues make it hard to recommend. i might stick with my usual brands in the future, as this one doesn't live up to the hype.
- Pros: for the price, it's super lightweight and easy to attach to my dog's collar, and the water-resistant part is a nice touch since he loves splashing around in puddles. the battery does last a decent while, outlasting most of his naps, which is handy for short outings.
- Cons: the real-time tracking is often delayed or inaccurate, making it unreliable when i really need to find him quickly. the anti-loss alarm didn't ping me fast enough during a scare, and the mobile app feels clunky and not as intuitive as i'd expect from a brand i usually trust. from what i feel, the durability isn't great—it already has some scratches after minimal use.
