as an engineer, i was skeptical but gave this a try for my office locker to keep my camera gear safe. after using it for a couple of months, it's been okay—not great, not terrible. it opens with a tap, which is convenient, but i've had a few moments where i had to try multiple times, and that's annoying. the charging is simple with the port they included, but i worry about long-term durability. overall, it does the job but doesn't wow me; i might stick with my usual brand next time.
- Pros: it's pretty good at recognizing my fingerprint most of the time, and i like that i don't need keys anymore. the charging method is handy since it can handle a bit of moisture, and it feels fairly secure for my locker at work.
- Cons: sometimes it doesn't register my print right away, especially if my hands are a bit damp, and the build quality seems a bit flimsy to me. it doesn't always feel as reliable as i'd hoped for something that's supposed to be smart.
