Garmin Mk3i Dive Computer and Multisport GPS Smartwatch: Advanced, watch-style dive computer with 1.4” AMOLED display
Available Options

Meet the Garmin Descent™ Mk3i—not just a dive computer, but a rugged, do-it-all companion for those who take their underwater adventures seriously. With its eye-popping 1.4” AMOLED display and a sapphire lens that laughs in the face of scratches, this beast is ready to plunge up to 200 meters without breaking a sweat. And here’s the kicker: thanks to SubWave™ sonar tech, you can chat (well, sort of) with up to seven other divers using preset messages, all while keeping tabs on tank pressures and depth. Pair it with the Descent™ T2 transceiver, and you’re basically the James Bond of diving.
But wait, there’s more (because of course there is):
- Ever fumbled in the dark? The built-in LED flashlight adjusts to your needs, because nobody likes a blinding light when they’re trying to read a compass.
- The dive readiness tool is like having a personal dive coach, minus the pep talks. It checks if you’re actually fit to dive today—because sometimes last night’s pizza party wasn’t the best idea.
- With DiveView™ maps, you’ve got over 4,000 dive sites at your fingertips, complete with bathymetric depth contours. It’s like Google Maps, but for finding Nemo.
- Multi-band GPS and ABC sensors ensure you won’t get lost (unless you want to).
- Store up to 200 dives in the dive log—perfect for reliving your underwater escapades or proving you actually did that deep dive.
- And because surface life matters too, it’s packed with sports apps and 24/7 health monitoring. Because why not?
- 200-meter dive-rated case with metal leakproof inductive buttons
- SubWave sonar technology for diver-to-diver communication
- Built-in LED flashlight with variable intensities
- Dive readiness tool for better-informed dive plan decisions
- DiveView maps with bathymetric depth contours and dive sites
- Multi-band GPS technology for superior positional accuracy
- Dive log for storing and reviewing data from up to 200 dives
- Built-in sports apps for fitness and training features
- 24/7 health and wellness monitoring
- Advanced, watch-style dive computer with 1.4” AMOLED display

As an impulsive buyer, I got this because I thought it would make my occasional diving trips easier, but in reality, it's a bit overwhelming. I expected a straightforward device, but it's packed with features I don't fully understand yet. The packaging was intact when it arriced, which was a relief. On the positive side, it does seem durable and the display is fantastic—I can actually see everything without straining my eyes. I appreciate the dive reaidness check; it's like having a little reminder to be safe, though I'm skeptical about how accurate it is. For surface activities, it's nice to have health tracking, but I mostly use it for my walks with the dog. Overall, it's extremely capable, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle for someone like me who's just starting out. :)
- Pros: From what I feel, the display is extremely clear and easy to read, even in briggt conditions, and it hasn't scratched at all despite my clumsy handling. I liked that it can handle deep water without issues, and the ability to communicate with other divers using simple messages is very handy. The built-in light is adjustable and not too harsh, which is great for low-light situations. It also keeps track of my dives and health data, making it a versatile tool for both underwater and everyday use.
- Cons: I expected it to be simpler to use, but I find the interface a bit confusing as a beginner, and it took me some time to figure out how to access all the features. The communication function only works with preset messages, which feels limiting if I want to say something specific. It's quote bulky on my wrist, and I wish it were lighter for all-day wear. Also, the initial setup was more complicated than I anticipated, and I had to refer to the manual frequently.
