Mongoose Expo Scooter BMX-Style Kick Scooter: 12-inch air filled bike style tires
Meet the Mongoose Expo Kick Scooter—your kid's next favorite ride. It's not just a scooter; it's a beast on wheels, ready to tackle anything from sidewalk cracks to dirt paths thanks to those 12-inch air-filled tires. And let's talk about those BMX-style handlebars and the freestyle Gyro brake rotor—because who says scooters can't be trick machines? Plus, with a wide foot deck, even the wobbliest of riders will find their balance (eventually).
Designed for the 6 to 9-year-old crowd (but let's be honest, some of us adults are tempted), it can handle up to 175 pounds. The steel traction-coated deck stretches 48 inches from wheel to wheel, offering plenty of room to plant your feet on its 14-inch long and 4-inch wide deck. And because kids grow like weeds, the adjustable handlebar fits riders from 4'2" to 5'6"—no excuses for outgrowing it too fast.

I bought this on a whim after seeing it in the store, thinking it might be fun to scoot around the neighborhood for some exercise. As a chef, I'm on my feet all day, so this seemed like a nice change of pace. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it's held up well on the sidewalks here in Houston. The ride is smooth over cracks and small bumps, and I like that I can adjust the handlebar to fit my height—no more hunching over! It's fairly easy to control, though I had a few close calls with the brake at first. Overall, it's a solid choice for casual riding, and it brings a smile to my face :) Would recommend with some caution for new riders.
- Pros: The big wheels handle bumps nicely, and the handlebar adjusts easily for different heights, which is a nice bonus. It feels sturdy and the wide deck helps with balance, making it fairly safe for a beginner like me.
- Cons: It's a bit heavy to carry around, and the brake takes some getting used to, seems a bit touchy at times. Not the easiest for quick stops.
