As someone who's new to keeping fish, I was excited to try this out because I've heard good things about DIYelecs. It does a decent job overall, and I like that it's automatic, so I don't have to fiddle with settings all the time. But honestly, it's not top-notch—it seems fairly average. There are moments when the water feels a bit off, and I have to double-check everything, which can be a hassle. For the price, I expected a bit more reliability. It's okay, but I might look for something better next time if this one doesn't hold up. Still, it's helped me keep my fish from getting too stressed, so that's something.
- Pros: I really appreciate how this heater keeps the water temperature stable without me having to constantly check it. It's built solidly and was super easy to set up, just plug it in and it does its thing. Works great in both fresh and saltwater tanks, which is a big plus for versatility.
- Cons: It doesn't heat as quickly as I hoped, and sometimes the temperature seems to fluctuate a bit more than expected. For a beginner like me, it's a bit confusing when it doesn't perform perfectly out of the box, and I wish it had a clearer indicator or something to show it's working properly.
