As a dad with kids and a job in marketing I travel a lot for work and wanted something to keep an eye on things at home I bought this LaView camera a couple weeks ago and it has been a game changer The installation was a breeze no complicated wiring just twisted it into a socket and connected it to my home network The image is incredibly detailed both day and night and I appreciate that I can see colors even when its dark outside not just grainy black and white The motion tracking feature is smart it follows people or pets around and sends me notifications on my phone so I can check in from anywhere Ive used the two way talk to chat with my kids when Im away and even scared off a curious raccoon with the alarm sound Sharing the feed with my wife and parents was simple and they love being able to peek in too It integrates well with my Alexa setup so I can just ask to see the camera feed hands free Overall it feels reliable and secure and for the price it seems like a solid choice Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use security solution :)
- Pros: Setting it up was incredibly easy just screw it in like a light bulb and connect to my wifi no tools needed The picture quality is sharp and clear even at night I can see everything in color which is awesome It follows movement automatically and sends alerts to my phone so I never miss a thing I love that I can talk through it or set off an alarm to scare off anyone suspicious Plus I can share access with my family and use voice commands with Alexa making it super convenient for our busy household :)
- Cons: It only works with the slower wifi band which seems a bit limiting if you have a faster network The motion detection sometimes picks up small things like leaves blowing around which can be annoying with false alerts The range for night vision is good but not perfect in very dark areas beyond a certain distance
