i bought this on a whim after my old stereo died, and as a teacher with a low income and a kid to worry about, i needed something affordable that could handle my daily drives. installation was straightforward, and i've been using it for a couple of months now. it's great for streaming my cooking podcasts and keeping my phone charged, but the quirks like the occasional glitches and mediocre audio make it just okay—not terrible, but not amazing either. it does the job, but i might upgrade if i had more cash to spare.
- Pros: it grew on me how easy it was to pop this thing into my car's dash and suddenly have a screen that actually responds when i touch it, plus being able to connect my phone wirelessly for music and calls without any hassle, which is a lifesaver during my daily commute in chicago traffic. the radio picks up stations clearly with those traffic alerts, and having extra ports for charging and playing stuff from old devices is extremely handy.
- Cons: as it seemed to me, the screen is a bit small and not the brightest, making it tough to see in direct sunlight, and sometimes the wireless connection drops unexpectedly, which can be annoying when i'm relying on it for directions. also, the sound quality isn't the best—it's fine for casual listening but lacks depth, and the overall build feels a bit cheap, which might not hold up well over time.
