Review: MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina display (early 2015) – Express.co.uk
The MacBook Pro’s slimline aluminium Unibody design remains impressive – after all, it is just 0.03inches thicker than wedge of the 13inch MacBook Air.
However, Apple has revealed the weight of the MBPr increased slightly as part of the latest refresh, from 3.46 to 3.48 pounds.
Honestly, the 17month-old MacBook Pro hardware design only starts to look outdated when it is placed next to Apple’s own ultra-portable new MacBook.
Apple’s new laptop range proves it is possible to marry a high resolution Retina display with a svelte unibody design.
Its a shame the 13inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has not been treated to the same crash-course diet as Apple’s latest.
One advantage of the Pro’s thicker frame is the wide selection of ports on offer – including two USB 3.0, two ThunderBolt 2 ports, dual microphones, an SDXC card slot, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone socket.
Apple’s industry-leading backlit chiclet keyboard also remains unchanged in the latest iteration.
