AP Ex-Bureau Chief, Newspaper Editor Jonathan Kellogg Dies – ABC News

A former Associated Press bureau chief who served as executive editor of Connecticut’s Republican-American newspaper has died. Jonathan F. Kellogg was 68.

Kellogg died on Monday at his home in Harwinton. His brother-in-law, Bill Mitman, says the cause was undetermined.

Kellogg became executive editor of the Waterbury newspaper in 1997. He retired in June. He had also served as executive editor of The Sun in Lowell, Massachusetts, and managing editor for the Portland Press Herald in Maine and the Maine Sunday Telegram.

Kellogg spent 16 years with The Associated Press, including 10 years as bureau chief for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

He was a member of The New England Newspaper & Press Association’s Hall of Fame.

Funeral arrangements were not available Tuesday morning.
