The rapper is partnering with L.A. streetwear brand JOYRICH on a 33-piece capsule collection that will debut on June 10 at Made LA.
There’s a first for everything — even for an industry veteran like Snoop Dogg. The rapper, who not only shaped the American hip-hop scene and popularized West coast rap (aka G-funk), but has racked up a whopping total of 14 studio albums (and just released his 15th, Neva Left), an outstanding number of awards, and has even had a few movie cameos throughout his 25-year-long career, will stage his first fashion show — and his first fashion collection since his now-defunct clothing line Rich And Infamous — on June 10 at Made LA.
Done in partnership with Los Angeles streetwear brand JOYRICH to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, the 33-piece capsule collection, which includes lifestyle products like pet accessories and bathrobes, draws inspiration from Snoop Dogg’s early career, archival music, and passion for laid-back California fashion. In addition to being Snoop’s very first runway show, the collection will mark his son, Cordell Broadus’, inaugural debut as a creative director.
And that’s not all: The JOYRICH x Snoop Dogg show is just one of the events on the line-up at Made LA 2017, a two-day music-and-fashion extravaganza (June 9 and 10), which will also host Opening Ceremony’s first-ever Los Angeles fashion show for its Fall 2017 collection (headlined by producer and rapper RZA) and the debut of Wiz Khalifa’s capsule collection, concluding with a performance alongside members of his Taylor Gang.
“We are thrilled to announce the additions to this lineup,” Catherine Bennett, Senior Vice President and Managing Director at IMG, told Billboard. “RZA collaborating with Carol and Humberto [founders of Opening Ceremony] is going to make Opening Ceremony a cant-miss show, and the partnership between JOYRICH and Snoop Dogg will be an incredible meeting of two creative forces on the MADE LA stage.”
MADE L.A’s 2017 Show will take place on June 9 and June 10 at the L.A Live’s Event Deck. Tickets, available here, are $40 for standing and $60 for reserved seating.
